Bongo Beat signs Plaza Musique

Bongo Beat in a partnership with Montreal group, Plaza Musique ------------- Bongo Beat Records is proud to announce a new partnership with Plaza Musique, a Montreal based music collective that crosses the boundaries of electro, dance, progressive and hard rock... in three languages (French, Italian, and English). Plaza Musique is performing at the Francofolies, Thursday, July 30, in a free concert, starting at 8pm (20h), at Place Loto Quebec (President-Kennedy and De Maisonneuve). Effective immediately, Bongo Beat is distributing the group's new vinyl only EP, "Accent" in Canada, USA, UK, and Germany via its international distribution network. The EP is already available on Amazon worldwide, HMV UK, etc. A new album will be released in the fall (the 4 songs on the current EP will not be included), followed by touring and international showcases. "This is an incredible live band," says Bongo Beat owner Ralph Alfonso, "and the first Franco Quebec group to sign with the label. We are very excited about combining our resources and taking them international with our worldwide partners." Championed by France's Bertrand Burgalat (Air, Ladytron) and produced by Xavier Paradis of Automelodi (formerly Echo Kitty), Montreal based Plaza Musique lies between sugary 80s French pop and seductive new wave, buttressed by lilting piano/harpsichord fills and occasional orchestral maneuvers into 70s melodic Euro prog rock. Female vocalist Mimi conjures up a wistful blend of Kate Bush/Annie Haslam as she handles lyrics in English, French, and Italian. For Montreal scene watchers, that's ex-Stills Gregory L.
