Ralph's Punk Photo Exhibit + Diodes Punk Movie Night!
Dec. 9th, 2010
Saturday, Dec 11, Montreal
Blue Sunshine Montreal is presenting a very special evening of punk rock movies revolving around legendary Toronto punk icons, The Diodes.
The rarely screened Crash'n'Burn film by Ross McLaren will be shown in 16mm. This is a visual document of Canada's first punk club that Ralph Alfonso and The Diodes created and ran during the summer of 1977.
In 2007, The Diodes re-united to perform at The Cavern Club in Liverpool and NXNE in Toronto. Director Aldo Erdic's Circa 77: The Diodes follows The Diodes as they rehearse for NXNE and simultaneously recount band history and the early days of punk in Toronto, interspersed with vintage footage of the band from 1977 and the early 80s..
Aldo Erdic will be at Blue Sunshine in person to present his film and Diodes manager/photographer Ralph Alfonso will have a showing of his 1977 photographs of the Crash'n'Burn, The Diodes, Patti Smith, Richard Hell, Ramones and lots more. This is his first ever exhibition of his photography.
Admission is $8 and includes chips and a drink!
Membership to Blue Sunshine (it is a private club) is free. Be sure to get there early!!
Ralph's photos will be up for two weeks.

If you forget your card, we'll have your forms alphabetized and can look you up. Once you are a member, you will find out the admission prices for various events.
EXCEPTION: Miskatonic classes and third-party events DO NOT require the membership for admission.
HOW THE DOORS WORK: The outside doors lock 15 minutes after showtime. If you are late and the outer door's locked, and want to try texting us to let you in, text us on David's phone at 514-293-6651. Sorry, but there are many reasons why it has to work this way! Blue Sunshine is a currently private club, and doesn't function like a regular public venue.
