Ralph in 2 Historical Rock Books! |
Nov. 10th, 2008 |
Bongo Beat's Ralph Alfonso is featured in two historical rock books published this year. The first is the wonderful THE CAVERN (The Most Famous Club In The World) by Spencer Leigh. This is the definitive week by week history of this iconic club. Ralph is cited for his first live appearance at The Cavern and subsequent Bongo Beat Night showcases there. Ralph's heartfelt tribute to Billy Fury is a staple (obviously) of his Liverpool appearances and has made him many friends there. "I'm a fan of all of Spencer's many books but this one is especially fantastic and full of incredible information." "I genuinely love Liverpool and discover something new every time I visit. Any musician with any sense of history has to make the pilgrimage once in his lifetime - I've been privileged to almost call it a second home." THE CAVERN. Ralph contributed to the listing for The Haunted's debut album and they quote from his liner notes to the 80s vinyl lp on Voxx Records (same liner notes also appeared on the Eva Records lp in France). "To be included in this important historical work means a lot. Every Canadian with any serious interest in this country's musical heritage should buy it." There is also a separate 2CD companion compilation on Musicor Records. 101 Disques AMAZON.CA |
